Can you believe that WNDR Alpine is now four years old? That’s right - having battled our way through our terrible twos and tyrannical threes, we’re now a four year old brand, with four year old experiences and lofty four year old ambitions.

We’d like to think that the collective decades of experience on our team makes us pretty mature for age four, but in reality, we’re doing exactly what any growing four year old should be up to: expanding our horizons, learning as fast as we can, and diving into new experiences with wide-eyed curiosity and a healthy helping of wonder.

In the last month, we’ve revealed our initial exploration into biobased apparel technology with the Phase Series - a line of multisport apparel that utilizes microalgae oil as the key ingredient in a petroleum-free wicking finish.

Today, we find ourselves right back where we started - launching our own flavor of backcountry tools that we’ve refined through biotechnology, materials science, and of course, thrashing our prototypes in the best (and worst) conditions Nature could throw at us.

Our 2024 ski lineup is equipped for a greater breadth of environments and athletes than ever before. Scroll down and discover your new backcountry companion.

“Up until this point, ‘skimo’ skis really aren’t fun to ski. They are twitchy from too much carbon, mounted too far back and just drenched in old school ethos. The mould needs to be broken!!! Make a ‘skimo' ski that can ski well.”

- An email from Paul Greenwood, Friend of WNDR, circa 2021

Who is this Paul Greenwood exactly? A local legend of the Sea-To-Sky? A physical therapist, trainer, and chiropractor with an uncanny knack for skiing where no human has skied before? Hold onto your crampons - you’ll hear more about Paul soon.

On to the ski: The all-new Nocturne 88 represents a fresh take on the concept of ski mountaineering.

Nope, the Nocturne isn’t about spandex and heart rate monitors. It’s about setting off before sunrise, technical ascents, and testing your mettle in the world’s most liberating environments. And most importantly, it’s still about the descent.

Unapologetically bringing a freeride mindset to our narrowest waist width, the Nocturne 88 comes with a 1500 gram weight @ 178cm, a progressive mount point, and slightly rockered tail. This enables easy turning, smearing, and creative skiing in a package equipped for big ascents and descents from our planet’s most inspiring prominences.

When a ski has already won multiple awards - an ISPO Award and Backcountry Magazine’s Editors’ Pick, to name a few - do you dare refine it?

We don’t believe in planned obsolescence or updates that needlessly tinker with a good thing. But we do stand for iteration and data-driven improvements. Even more so, we stand for serving our community - and the needs of our community are exactly what drove us to create a successor to the widely loved Vital 100.

The new Vital 98 features a more agile sidecut and a little more stiffness where needed. The Vital is your tool for seeking out stability and edge hold in firm, high pressure conditions, or for shredding buttery corn and boot top pow.   With the choice between Camber and Reverse Camber, and a smaller 6 cm gap between sizes, no matter who you are, you have the option to refine your fit to suit your intended use. Gender, experience, and size agnostic, the Vital 98 breathes life into any skier's ambitions.

We’re pretty sure it’s impossible to find the wrong day to ski an Intention. Our refined mainstay has ample rocker while touting a waist width for surfing the fresh stuff backed up by excellent damping for charging through anything else. A medium-to-long sidecut radius pairs seamlessly with a low swing weight, creating a platform that is paradoxically stable at speed and agile in tighter terrain. Greater than the sum of its biobased parts, the Intention 108 is your ticket to all day, every day big mountain excellence.

The Reason 120 is our deep pow dancer. Empowering both your flotation and imagination, our widest ski was dreamed up by the one and only Pep Fujas to enable backcountry athletes to get the most out of the world’s deepest snowpacks, and still derive maximum joy everywhere else.

But before you pigeonhole the Reason as a pure quiver ski, don’t overlook the materials at its heart. The Reason 120’s Algal Wall and Algal Core provide stability when encountering firmer snow, and its shorter, snappy sidecut delivers ample edge purchase when it counts.

“When you’re on the Reason, you know it’s going to be a good day!.” - Pep
