ATK has leapt onto the US binding scene and have quickly established their legitimacy in the ski touring binding segment, engineering precise, high quality, durable and light weight backcountry tools that inspire confidence charging hard.  They were founded in 2007 in Fiorano Modenese, Italy, the heart of the Italian Motor Valley (Ferrari wink wink) where innovation is part of the culture.  It was a no brainer to partner up with them as our motto "Tread Light, Charge Hard" rings true with ATK as well.

*Please note that the 102mm brake will fit comfortably on the Intention 108.

New & improved features include:

  • Raider Evo Automatic Brake System: ATK has completely redesigned the heel unit and brake interface. Instead of the manual system with the metal button on the side, the ski brake is now automatically activated when moving the heel unit from touring to ski mode.  This allows for easier and quicker transitions, and you won't risk a runaway ski when transitioning
  • Release Adjustment Toe Piece: Most insert bindings only allow adjustment of the DIN settings on the heel piece.  The Freeraider Evo binding features a new toe piece design with DIN rated adjustability, giving the binding a more predictable and safer release.

Features:

A new toe design allows for easy and confident step in for any tech boot available on the market, even ones with worn out soles.

A special design in the toe piece that avoids any snow/ice/debris build-up under the locking mechanism.

A multi-position selector is placed between the front lever and the toe piece base plate.  By changing the selector setting, the uphill mode locking hardness variates by increasing the pressure on the locking mechanism.  It compensates for boot toe insert wear and tear over the years, provides proper locking strength for each skier, regardless of weight and reduces the pressures on the locking mechanism.

The patented ATK Cam Release System® is incorporated into the binding heel to help the boot step-in and vertical release function properly in case of a fall. A special CAM profile is pressed towards the heel pins by a pre-tensioned spring.  When stepping in or when a release occurs due to a fall, the pins are forced to go through the CAM profile which provides precise resistance to the pin release, depending on the release value set on the binding.  This system provides stable downhill performance, helping eliminate boot torsion flex, while maintaining precise release functionality and one of the easiest heel step ins in the industry.

A spring is placed in between the base plate of the binding and the adjustment screw. When the ski bends due to a compression or a jump, the 4 mm distance in between boot and heel can be reduced or completely eliminated while the heel can still slide back and forth freely. This allows the ski to flex naturally, improves the binding release performance and reduces the pressure exerted on the ski/boot/binding system.

A simple but ingenious magnet system in the heel risers allows for secured and stable placement, so they only engage when you need them to.
