Deep Snow Pleasures

"WNDR Alpine's widest ski is one that, unsurprisingly, really shines in deep conditions, but with a level of adaptability that is rare among ~120mm-wide skis." - Blister Review

Questions? We're here to help!

Blems are largely due to cosmetic imperfections or subtle shaping processes which we evolved out of and thus downgraded prior versions to spotlight improvements. There is nothing wrong with the integrity of these skis and we back the warranty on these just as we would production grade skis. All current year blems are listed at a 10% discount below retail price based on the issue.

Explanations and/or photos of specific blemishes are available upon request.  For any additional questions, do not hesitate to reach us via email to hello@wndr-alpine.com, live chat (left side of any page on the website) or by phone at 801.415.1815.

Light enough for a big day of human-powered access and agile enough to get the most out of any terrain, the Reason 120 is the shape for the days we all dream of. A girthy 120mm waist width provides effortless buoyancy in the deepest and lightest powder, while a spry 20m turn radius keeps the Reason easy to manage in tight terrain. The Reason’s Algal Core and Algal Wall work in conjunction to provide added stability and torsional stiffness to the platform, enabling it to be driven hard through variable snow. All in all, the Reason is a ski dedicated to deep snow pleasures that still shines in less-than-primo conditions.

OUR COMPONENTS

Algal Core

Algal Core

Algal Core is a vertically laminated composite of biobased high density polyurethane and domestically sourced aspen. This combination reduces weight and offers damping properties otherwise unattainable in solid wood core construction while remaining stable and intuitive to ride. Polyurethane biobased carbon content 41% by ASTM D6866-18 Method B.

Algal Wall

Algal Wall

Algal Wall is a biobased cast polyurethane sidewall that protects the Algal Core and delivers better damping than a traditional, petroleum based ABS sidewall. Unlike traditional manufacturing techniques, we use a channel in the outside of the core as a mold for pouring in the liquid sidewall material. This creates a virtually seamless and unbreakable bond with the aspen as the sidewall hardens, increasing the overall structural integrity of the snowboard. This novel manufacturing technique diverts plastic waste from the landfill compared to traditional use of extruded plastic sidewalls. Polyurethane biobased carbon content ~68% by ASTM D6866-18 Method B.

Spiral Plate

Spiral Plate

Spiral Plate recycled binding insert outperforms our traditional maple inserts in pullout strength testing conducted in house, resulting in better binding screw retention and enabling a more even flexing ski. SpiralMade™ materials are made from production waste at our Design Lab in Salt Lake City and reused in new products to boost performance.

LOVE IT OR RETURN IT

We prototype and test our skis and boards in the lab and with feedback from athletes, guides, and mountain professionals. If for any reason you’re not 100% satisfied with a product manufactured by WNDR® Alpine, you may ship it back to us for a full refund or exchange under our Return Policy.

LOW IMPACT PACKAGING

To reduce our dependence on disposable packing materials, we ship our skis using only recyclable products, including cardboard, repulpable tape, and craft paper instead of shrink wrap.

CARBON NEUTRAL SHIPPING

We strive to reduce the environmental impact of our products by shipping every ski or board via UPS Carbon Neutral. UPS supports projects that include reforestation, wastewater treatment, and methane destruction. The project is validated by SGS, an independent third party.

TAKEBACK PROGRAM

Through our Takeback Program, we will take back your products at the end of life and, depending on the condition, we may: 1) refurbish and find them a new home, 2) deconstruct and re-use parts of the internal materials, or 3) upcycle the products. If you send your products back within 3 years, you will receive 20% off a new pair of skis or board, and have the peace of mind knowing that your old products have been dealt with responsibly.
