BIOTECHNOLOGY
- Our Algal Core is a composite of vertically laminated, domestically sourced aspen sandwiched between high-density, algal polyurethane stringers which ensure a solid but lightweight platform. Biobased carbon content is 41.58% by ASTM D6866.
- Updated Algal Wall sidewalls are made utilizing a proprietary biobased cast polyurethane, engineered to improve edge hold and stability, while also increasing bondline strength over traditional materials, all while improving biobased content and durability over last year’s Algal Wall. Algal Wall utilizes a novel manufacturing technique that diverts plastic waste from the landfill compared to ABS plastic sidewalls. Biobased carbon content 68.89% by ASTM D6866. See why it's better.
- Biobased Super Sap® technology replaces traditional petroleum-based resin systems. We use Entropy Resins® to minimize the carbon footprint of our products. The certified bio-based content per ASTM D6866 of the ER-305 Resin is ~28%.

Bottom line for those who don’t want to read as much:
These skis have continually impressed me every time I take them out. They ski better than anything I’ve skied.
I ride the 176 reverse camber. This is my first reverse camber ski and I will say I can’t believe more people don’t ride this shape. It is wildly more versatile. You can have every turn shape you want in the same run and love every one. Finesse turns, playful turns, powerful carving, bouncy pow turns, jump turns in big terrain. This shape is incredible for them all.
The shape is amazing, and the construction of the ski is what makes it different than everything else. I’ll paraphrase something I read on blister review: “everything WNDR claims about these skis are true”. They are damp and responsive, lively and forgiving. The wood core and micro algae sidewall and reinforcements do exactly what they’re meant to do. Well.
I have reached for these skis for everything that I’ve skied in the backcountry basically since I’ve gotten them. This February I took an AMGA Ski Guide Course in Snoqualmie Pass. We got absolutely amazing conditions the whole course. I brought my BD Helio 115 skis in case it got deep. After one day of skiing both the Helios and the Vitals in one day, I didn’t ski the Helios at all. I skied the vitals in knee deep pow because they just simply behave better.
Another thing to consider is this company. I challenge you to go to SLC, walk into the shop, and not get enthralled with how kind and welcoming they are. I skied with the owner, Matt Sterbenz, during a PRO 1. He has his priorities in the right place. He is fostering a beautiful sustainability-based community that is supportive and kind.
Buy their skis. Buy their boards. They’re worth it.

I bought this ski as a backcountry specific setup and mounted ATK Raiders on them. I bought the 184 reverse camber. My daily driver has been a 2020 4FRNT Hoji in a 187. I absolutely love the flexibility in riding style that a reverse camber/full rocker ski gives you. It makes a lot of sense in the backcountry where conditions can vary immensely, and I appreciate a quick pivoting ski when I'm rocketing down icy death luge skin tracks in SW MT.
I didn't think I could love a ski anymore than those Hojis but I do and this is that ski.
This ski blends all the best components of a full rocker and cambered ski into one, in my opinion making it more versatile than either on their own. You get quick pivoting nature of the full rocker ski, but a similiar effective edge of a cambered ski, and some how these things STICK to the steeps. I can only compare these to my Hojis, but the first turns I made on the Vitals in powder was like driving Ferrari these things plane up FAST and they need very little input, you think about turning and they do it, they are an extremally intuitive ski in powder, they ski every bit as good as my full rockered Hojis that are 187 and 112 underfoot in everything but super deep pow at slow speeds.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this ski to anyone and everyone. I just wish I had two pairs so I could ski one inbounds (though a bit burlier/heavier version would be better for that).

My first impression of this ski is it is really sluggish and feel dead.
I am skiing on Meidjo 2.1 and 3.0 NTN bindings with Scarpa TX pro NTN boots
GS alpine turns are not bad when you are at speed, but when you really crank these skis with deep
tele turns they are really sluggish. Not very snappy at all.
I compared them to Goode 106 (176 cm) the the same bindings and boots, DPS Lotus 120 ( 176cm) same bindings and boots, and DPS Wailer 112 RP Limited Edition (168 cm) same bindings and boots.
All of the above mentioned skis are very snappy and responsive when you crank a deep tele turn. I have yet to ski the Vital on deep powder and will give a review after.

I've been looking for a back country ski that can handle any snow type/condition and I've finally found it in the Vital 100. Powder, bullet proof wind slabs, breakable crust, corn, crud, you name it and the Vital 100 can not only ski it but make it fun. These skis have given me a new outlook on skiing.

Pretty impressed with the Vital 100s reverse camber 184s, after my fist day of inbound and backcountry skiing. I found them very versatile.
Stable on steep firm chalk inbounds, I even got a compliment in the lift line about how fun they looked on the groomers.
Uphill the reduction in weight was appreciated.
I then skied 3 different couloirs in variable condition. The skies were fun and playful in tight steep chutes and I was unable to find there speed limit in the creamy fans. Turns were initiated easily without the ski feeling "hooky" and they also released from the turn easily when I needed to ditch some speed with a smear or surf.
Ski conditions ranged from firm and variable to 15cm of creamy pow.
Overall impressed and stoked to add it to my quiver.
I'm 5'11" and 165lbs, the 184s seemed a good fit.
